Exhibition 2026
Terrasson venerates the Vézère
A contemporary art exhibition at the Gardens of the Imagination, where landscape, memory, river and creation come together.
An exhibition between art, landscape and memory
Presented in Terrasson-Lavilledieu, on the banks of the Vézère River and close to Lascaux, this exhibition highlights the cultural and natural heritage of the region.
Lascaux and Terrasson form a key landmark in the history of art, where contemporary creation enters into dialogue with memory, landscape and the movement of the river.
“Terrasson venerates the Vézère” offers a renewed and sensitive vision of the territory, connecting prehistoric art with contemporary artistic expression.
Curatorial statement
The artworks draw inspiration from light, natural elements and the prehistoric heritage of Lascaux. They explore the notion of time through the continuous flow of the Vézère, where each drop of water becomes a metaphor for memory and transformation.
The exhibition creates a dialogue between past and present, offering a new and sensitive reading of the river, its landscapes, prehistoric habitats and the town of Terrasson-Lavilledieu.
Set within the exceptional setting of the Gardens of the Imagination, the exhibition brings together a natural landscape shaped by time and a designed landscape rich in symbolism and imagination.
The works also draw their strength from the earth itself, exploring its symbolic dimension and questioning the origins of art, while looking toward the future through the elements of earth, water and air.
