THE GARDENS OF THE IMAGINATION
A poetic journey in the heart of the Périgord Noir
Open from April 4 to September 30, 2026

The Gardens of the Imagination, a unique site in France and Europe, invite visitors to one of the most beautiful experiences in the Périgord Noir, in the historic town of Terrasson-Lavilledieu, overlooking the Vézère valley.
Just a short distance from Sarlat and Lascaux, this major tourist and cultural site combines the art of gardens with the history of humanity. It offers a sensitive evocation of garden history through 13 remarkable and enchanting natural scenes where visitors rediscover the great universal features of gardens around the world: water, the movement of wind, terraces, plants and perspectives.
With 2,000 rose bushes, 20,000 perennials, 2,500 boxwood plants, 120 water jets, more than 150 plant species, 8,000 trees and shrubs, terraces, a green theatre, a plant tunnel, woodland areas, a belvedere and water gardens, the site unfolds across six hectares of terraced landscapes overlooking the Vézère River.
